What do I consider when it comes to an offensive philosophy
When it comes to running an offense or coming up with a philosophy, I would spend way too much time trying to make it sound good. I wanted it to sound as if I was the smartest guy in the room so it would impress others. I was too concerned with it lining up with what I liked and what my beliefs were on offense. I’m not saying it shouldn’t do that. But don’t get way too caught up in it. So here is the only thing I consider or ask when coming up with an offensive philosophy every season.
“Who do we have that can score the ball”
When you know who your best scorers are it eliminates all kinds of other clutter you try and do or create that becomes counterproductive, in my opinion.
